How do you celebrate the birthday of one of the most widely used modern synthetic materials in the world? More than 70 years ago in 1951 BASF registered Styropor® as a trademark and started producing the material that has shaped our modern life in so many ways. To show off the versatility of the product, BASF partnered with Buero Abstract to create a unique visual campaign where multiple facets of Styropor® are being demonstrated in an easy-to-consume format fit for the contemporary media landscape.
To make the most out of the available production time on set, the team had to be able to shoot seven locations in just two days. A feat nothing short from impossible in a classic production setting where crew and gear has to be moved from one set to another, so the team from Buero Abstract once again returned to our studio LEDcave mini in Mannheim to leverage the Virtual Production workflow. This allowed them to shoot three clips on multiple indoor and outdoor locations without having to physically move crew, camera or lights at all. The results speak for themselves: by combining clever lighting and camera techniques with the real-time rendering capabilities of our LEDcave framework, the team was able convincingly set the scene for the different Styropor® products.
